A few simple questions on the SUs: 1. Where is their easternmost terminus? (I figure their westernmost terminus is Syracuse) 2. How many cars comprise a typical consist? 3. Do they haul a lot of bridge traffic, or are many of the cars destined for on-line customers? 4. What sort of freight is handled?

1) Ridgefield Park, NJ

2) Currently they seem to be averaging about 100 cars.

3,4) Not much bridge traffic, mostly construction debris from northern NJ, , contaminated soil, lumber, propane, carbon dioxide (used in carbonated beverages), plastic, corn syrup, autoracks, and various other commodities.

It has been my understanding the SU-99 / SU-100 run between Binghamton, NY and Ridgefield Park, NJ. The Syracuse trains get an "SY" designation, Utica trains, "UT", Binghamton "BH", and local train based out of Ridgefield Park get a "WS" designation.

cjvrr- you hit the nail on the head with the designation, but you forgot the CL trains that work Cortland. It's pretty fun to watch 5 locomotives assembling the 100 at COLES. (3014, 3040, 3636, 3668, 3010)

Also the SU-99's seem to be following a Monday-Friday departure from Little Ferry... So the trains may not be as long unless they skip a day.... Last nights SU-99 had 50-55 cars or so.....
