How are they increasing the tractive effort by that much? Is the new cab that much heavier? Perhaps the prime mover will be heavier? Any details on the prime movers?

Probably newer and better wheel slip control systems which allows more power to be put to the rail before it slips. Its not all weight that matters

Just a minor point, but cab signals and PTC are NOT the same thing.

So according to that post on the first page, they are NOT being equipped with cab signals, but ARE being equipped with PTC, or at least be PTC capable in the future when the final plans are decided and tested and installed, etc.

I am shocked by how many people think they are the same thing.

The main reason I asked is to know if there is any chance of ever seeing them lead on the B&A.
