Thanks for a great picture to download.
I always found the time to stop and be impressed when I saw GP-38(s) in the red, white, and blue Bicentennial scheme.
Little did I know that a few years later, I would be working for the LIRR, and, briefly (while an Electrician Apprentice), working on the Geeps!

I don't recall seeing red white and blue L-2s, or if they did it would have been post 1978 and by that time I was in the service and off Long Island. I do recall seeing a red MTA logo on them, if thats what you are reffering to.

Wow, NICE Photo!!! That must have been some freight to need 10,000 H.P!!! ( 5 Century-420's) Where would a freight of that size go on LIRR, the Yard on the Central Branch to get sorted?
