(Buffalo, NY, July 1, 2004) - - Buffalo police are investigating a deadly accident in the railyards on the city's east side.
A man was struck and killed by a train around Noon near Broadway and Titus Avenue.
Officers say he got caught under a train while crossing the tracks with a bicycle. They say it appears he was hit and then dragged about 500 feet.
Buffalo Police Department Lt. Gale Allen said, "It looks like the train was backing up and travelling east, after getting clearance from the tower and the individual got caught, the bike was also run over and the individual was dragged this far."
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers say he's in his forties.
