Haven't done the map plus satellite but it should help.Oddly I do know about what the downtown area of Rochester is like at that time of night
Not sure I can recommend it if you're not familiar with the area, at least at night. If you are driving over and park in the lot, I don't think I would be too concerned, particularly if you are there when a train is due-- sufficient activity.
During the day, I would not have any worries at all.

Although the streets were shadowy and completely deserted, they didn't feel especially dangerous, just desolate. However, I wouldn't recommend such a stroll to everyone, especially if you're carrying luggage, or if you're easily spooked.I know in the summer, your pretty safe around that time because there's a club/bar of some sort on the otherside of High Falls, which there's always people walking to and from it.
The platform posts and canopy frame are original. They're all that remains of the old New York Central station, apart from two other crumbling, weed-grown platforms (without canopies) which haven't been used since 1966.
You'll find a photo of the canopies being destroyed here:

Any doubts should be resolved by contacting the local police for their insight.I have to disagree, that part of Rochester isn't Tanglewood, NJ.
