I like those too. I think some of those became C36-7i and went to Estonia. They look really nice, and the Estonian railroaders love running them.

My favorite is the D940C, or the C39-8 with the dash 2 radiators. Can you model those radiators?

Do you mean the C39-8E? I think that engine is a virtual twin to the C40-8.

My favourite GE would probably be the ES40DC/ES44AC. Bumps and boxes all over in true GE fashion.

I am confused where people get the model name B39-8E, C39-8E, C42-8, and C42-8W from. These are not their proper model names so why call them that? I know that some Chicago & North Western C40-8s were rated at 4,150 horse power, but we do not call the 3,750 horse power CSX C36-7s, C38-7s.

GE-101

I guess that's the name, considering most of them had 1,000,000 miles on them (I think there were 75 units in total, 30 rated at 8,500hp, the rest at 4,800hp) I'm surprised there isn't more information out there about them.

In any event, one of the most impressive looking locos out there. The 1-30 models had turbines up-rated to 10,000hp.

Big Blows:

Very attractive cab/nose/face/whatever-you-call-it on those units. Distinctive, and yet has certain similarities to EMD's and Alco's streamlined designs.
