1033 was eastbound on CSX M436 to Framingham earlier today (2/10).

1033 confirmed in Framingham 2/11....***should*** be on CSX L005 tonight to Attleboro for transfer to Middleboro and then to Rochester for set up, then testing on the Corridor

At least that rumor until April was false thankfully! Is 1029 next to be sent out? Still unsure where the other units are in the process.

April really isn't that far away really. I mean it's going to be nice seeing some fresh stuff. 1053 and 1070 are dirty.

They would probably want to buy locos that would pull 8 double-deckers at 79 MPH or even faster to future proof. And they would have to be Tier-IV. So basically would have to go to the back of the line behind Amtrak. Better to overhaul everything they already own first.
Metrolink are ordering 12 x Tier 4 which will result in T2 MP36s being disposed of. There are other MP36 operators like Metra who might have designs on them, and it is a few years away at best either way.

Metrolink is the only customer so far for the EMD F125, of which there are 40, same as the MBTA's HSP-46. Prime mover is a Catepiller C175-20.

Isn't there some California law that says that if they replace older locomotives with new T4 compliant ones paid with state money, that they need to completely destroy the old locomotives to ensure that they do not end up on the secondary market?

The 1033 failed its ACSES STOP signal test today....try again tomorrow

Anyone able to get a plate check on 1033 to see what its rebuild date is? TIA

Not yet. Got a friend working on it. Will post the data to your list.

Is 1029 still stuck at MPI?
  by alasgw

1029 has never been to MPI. Wabtec is performing the rebuilds at their Erie, PA facility.

Either way my point is is it still stuck at Erie?
  by alasgw

It is still at Erie pending rebuild, along with other MBTA units. As long as Wabtec completes the rebuild program within the time frame specified by the contract none of the units involved are "stuck" there.

Contract specified Fall 2021.
