The morning EB River Runner and a FEDEX truck had a collision near Pleasant Hill, Missouri this morning.

The FedEx driver did not make it.

None of the Amtrak passengers were injured, and the consist stayed on the rails.

As an aside, I saw this consist at 1AM on the platform track at KC Union Station.

Sounds like it happened here: https://www.google.com/maps/place/38%C2 ... -94.298191

It looks like it might be a passive railroad crossing with no lights or gates. I also don't know where a tractor trailer would be going to/from at that crossing, it seems to be a residential dead-end.

Sloppy reporting to call it a "semi" perhaps? From the accompanying photos it looked like the remains of a typical FedEx step van of the type commonly used for local delivery.

I’ve seen FEDEX tractor and one trailer rigs make runs of high cube/weight items to rural locations around here (I live on the North side of the metro).
