0255-0450/05-28-2021 started off slow, but The Deity Of Randomness flipped into reward mode down the road. Proof of scanner function would come at 0305 and 0310 with garbles, first from VRS and next from Boston West, things otherwise quiet until 0319 with an FI-2/D-3 exchange, they wanting to go West Side to East and he OKing them on signal indication.
To go all Simon & Garfunkel, the sounds of silence would next be in effect. At 0328, the 333 WLs were dark, the usual displays at the usual places to follow.
Up Da Hill, the 345s were dark, and from the easterly FP, Yard 2 had 8 loaded racks and 4 BNSF boxes, Yard 4 having gons -- at least a few of them company -- from Chair City Oil west.
Radio silence would be broken only be some public safety activity, that silence extending until 0354 with a 22K/D-3 exchange. They were stopped at Wachusett, and did he want them to take it further east? The recrew was already on the way, so no. Sure enough, NSs 6953, 4490, and 7710 were stopped on 1, but facing a Clear on the 333 1 WL as the crew awaited the soon-to-arrive recrew. The earlier radio silence had become anything but. At 0356, D-3 had reached out to AY-3 with garble about 22K, and then at 0358, D-3 reached out to FI-3, naught further immediately developing, but in a bit-plus there would be.
At 0413, D-3 asked FI-2 -- yes, two -- if they were calling, and a bit later, the 330.8 WBs showed a Stop for 1 and a Clear for 2, probably for 22K and not for 400. The 330 WLs and ELs were dark, but the GL 2 WL showed an Approach, hinting that 22K would be east 1st.
The FG 2 WL was showing a Clear, but that dropped at 0411, solo and west-facing KCIR 5963 heading east, it being in the FI-1/2 parking spot at 0413, the same time that D-3 reached out to AY-4 and went into garble mode. Just guessing that there mighta been more FI-2 Side-swapping between 0319 and 0411.
There would be a few spurts of garble until the 0419 viewing of the EB staggers for Derby -- Approach for 1 and Clear for 2. As I was jotting down the stagger info, light power KCIR 7620 trundled EB, dropping the the 2 stagger at at 0421 and in the midst of hash involving POAY. No idea what 7620 mighta been unless mebbe AE-01 or AY-5, but naught was ever heard to, from, or about those guys.
At 0427, D-3 told 22K that they would hold back, but Mount Wachusett would hold back any further details, and for the next bit, only occasional garble would exit the scanner.
0444 was when D-3 told FI-3 -- yes, back to them -- to hold wherever there was cuz he might need them ti recrew Q427 depending on how long it took to do the power swap. 0446 was the start of the D-3 side of an exchange with AY-3. They were to tie down their engine and cars on the Thorofare so AYPO could pick them up, making it seem like AY-3 had been doing more than the Milling and also making it seem like inspections were still being done at Waterville.
My fingers are tired, but your eyes probably are, too.
Edited for update-- Dunno if FI-3's crew in the Q427 seats, but X7.8 crossing noise came at 0837.
Edited a 2nd time -- Thanks to Al LaPierre's
http://photos.nerail.org/s/?p=263590 I saw that i'd gotten to be little too much a creature of habit and input "KCIR 5963" when I shoulda input "NewBlue 5963."
