1070 is not showing waybill reported now, despite it was about a week or so ago. Curious.

Nothing showing out of Erie. I wonder if that has to do with whatever issues have surfaced recently with the 1057, 1063 & 1074?

I thought 1063 is the only one now with issues? What happened to the other 2?

1057 had a stack fire, which may have really been a turbo issue, in Providence last week.
I forget what the 1074 has issues with.

Nothing showing out of Erie. With reinstated fuller schedules coming , Cape Flyer service and the fact that there's now 16 units either in transit or at Erie, things could get interesting.

So are 1057 and 1074 pulled from service from the moment or back on a set?

Don’t forget train consists are going to shrink with more frequent service as stated by the regional rail model. But that’s for another thread. Also there’s hsps to handle the capeflyer which I know will happen. Not going into details here. Hoping some more F40’s will come back soon. It’s been a while since something has been shipped back, even though 1074 and 1057 were the recents to return.

There's a picture of the 1065 on the Erie test track in the new Railpace, but dated late February. The column associated with the photo said
the 1060 was due next on the test track. Yet nothing shipped. Wonder if some of the warranty issues with delivered units like the 1063 has
something to do with the delays. That and forty more layoffs there and finishing an order for engines for Egypt?

FYI 1074 is no longer doubleheading on the 1061 set. Otherwise it would have been on the 1817 set. Not sure if that and 1057 are currently out of service for the moment or if it’s solo on a set that quickly.

FYI for anyone looking for 1074, it’s leading solo on the 1805 set which is spotted at braintree

Three MBTA F40PH units (I'm guessing these are 1033, 1063, and 1070 as seen in Framingham a couple days ago?) went west on Q427 last night (4/2/21) as seen passing the Steaming Tender at Palmer MA. The 3 units were placed behind the 2 CSX DPU units at the head of the Framingham block (Pan Am block was ahead of the DPUs)/

Yep, that's them. Now if only something would actually come back!

I have heard from an MBTA engineer yesterday in Worcester that they are scrambling for power for Monday. I would like to see how they are able smoothly this will all go.

Well there is also 40 hsp units supposedly assigned southside with all of the older power units up north with some rebuilds of both kinds meaning F40s and in house GP40s. It’s really only a shortage of the F40s that makes it really tight along with the 2 MP36s. That’s prob why once rebuilt F40’s get accepted back into service they lead solo quickly like 1074 recently did when I tried to catch it doubleheading with 1061. Other than the F40s and the GP40s that are out of service, it seems to appear that there is just enough for service. We shall see if any shortage delays are reported, but that’s for another thread.

Also has anyone seen the next rebuilt F40 on a test track in Erie?

Haven't come across anything except the 1065 photo in Railpace from February. Nothing out of Erie either.
