I don't think there are any current customers on the Delco lead. There was talk of a new customer coming online recently, but I haven't heard more about that.

In that vicinity, ME-2 serves customers on the Millstone I.T. and also further south at Deans.

Thanks for the info. So if I went to Jersey Ave. I could still catch them on that curved track that leads into the station?

Yes, as that is the Millstone IT. The track that cuts through the parking lot is (was) the Delco IT.

CR OI-8 coming off the East leg of the wye, headed East with the CSX8886+NS3376+CSX2798 + 26

OportRailfan thanks for posting; is around 26 cars a typical car count now for OI-8?

Based on radio chatter, it sounds like ME-2 ran to Oak Island today. Can anyone confirm this or am I just hearing things?

I caught ME-2 at Metuchen yesterday afternoon. They were running a bit later than usual, I assume due to the snow that fell the night before. Not only did the crew have to clear snow from switches in Metuchen Yard, but Amtrak also had track crews out clearing various hand throw switches such as National Can and General Tire.

ME-2 shoved out of the east leg of the wye around 3:45pm. They headed west on track 2 a short while later with three cars for Deans (plus the caboose):

All of the accumulated snow on the roof of the hoppers and caboose made for quite a show as the train accelerated west:

A short while before ME-2 appeared I also heard RC-2 working in Metuchen Yard. After catching ME-2, I headed over to Raritan Center and arrived just as they were getting back into "town". Leading was RCRY 701 (the unique GP20) and LTEX 2244, with LTEX 1074 bringing up the rear.

The late afternoon winter lighting was tricky, so my best shot was of the crew putting power away after yarding the train:

OI-83? East at Rahway at 12:50 with 2 units and 20 cars. Didn't get loco numbers but trailing unit was one of the ex EL SD45-2's.

Thank you! I didn't expect it to be such a busy afternoon.

I think it was OI-82. Caught it in North Elizabeth at 1:07pm. The power was NS 3376 and CSXT 8886 (ex-EL SD45-2).

I can post a photo later...

So after a few months of not catching a freight train on the Corridor, lightning struck twice for me this week.

Thanks to some radio chatter, I was able to catch OI-82 today at North Elizabeth. Details of the train are in the posts above.

I have yet another random ME-2 sighting. I was getting some shots of the Raritan River viaduct at sunset this evening and ME-2 appeared just as I was getting ready to leave.

I didn't have a radio, so I'm not sure where they were coming from (possibly Deans since they only had one covered hopper and the caboose).

Here is a shot as ME-2 was crossing the bridge at 5:47pm:

Slightly off-topic, but it was a very colorful sunset this evening; here is an ALP-powered NJT consist that crossed the river moments before ME-2 appeared:
