Retirements and Disposition of CR Equipment

Up until a few weeks ago, the plan was for the 1008 to be held OOS until the time came for its retirement. But that changed at some point, so the fact that it wasn't back in service too long before it failed again isn't surprising at all.

This really is the wrong thread to discuss the 1008. It's not being retired currently.

It appears as though coach 518 has been pulled from service. This is one of the BTCs equipped with the 2x2 Bombardier seating.

Coaches 515, 518, 529 & Control Car 1500 were all placed on the Tuttle Track today
along side Boston Sand & Gravel. Don't know if anything s was added to the 1503 down
at FX with the derelict RDC's.

The 1016 was relocated today. Not sure where just yet.

Psst look towards the west end of the sugar house cut.

The 1016 and the coaches designated for scrap were put together yesterday too on
Cut 1.

Does that mean they're imminently on their way out of town, or just getting stuffed in a different corner of the yard?

Just moved out of the way until they get cut up. Scrap bids are still open until 12/2, and based on the wording of the IFB, it sounds like they'll be cut up right where they are now.

The NJT coaches were cut up in the area the cars are being gathered right now.

Any word if the Amtrak boxes are going to be cut up as well?

The 507 was shoved out with the 1503(near Budd cars) at some point this week(end), along with two ex-TTX flat cars.

Control Car 1500 and Coaches 518,515 and 529 are still stored on the Tuttle Track near Boston Sand & Gravel.

The 507 and 1503 however are gone with the TTX flats near the RDC's. I did catch a glimpse of two MBB cars stored near the Work Train Caboose, which may be them. Does anyone know whats the plan for those two (507,1503)

The cars are going to placed with the other 4 cars on the Tuttle Track. But the snow fighting track cars are the blocking access to the cars currently.

There is also a rumor that the two ex-sand hoppers and a DODX flat next to the 1710 are
also going to be cut up at some point...

Looks like MBB coaches 503 & 505 have been removed from service.
