Have you seen cab car 8472 lately? The original ladders that were placed on the front sides have been removed. Will they do that to any other cars?

All but 10 or so 8400's still have ladders, UP removed the ladders from their 8400's several years ago. As 8400's from SWS/HC/MD get rebuilt, I would imagine ladders will come off as well, but time will tell.

The 7449 came back from rebuild several months ago. I rode the in the car back in February (I haven't seen the 7452 yet). Thanks for putting the list together.

7449 is the quiet car on the back of 2227. The new seats are a big imrovement as are the increased quiet car signage. However, the airconditioning is inadequate. The Budd cars have far better A/C.

Looks like 8448 will be hanging around the BNSF/SWS for a while...it was spotted last night on track 6 at CUS, complete with a red plow.

In addition to that, I spotted car 7269 in the consist of BNSF train #1266

Alot of the rebuilt 8400's have had their car numbers smaller than the bigger ones. So far I have seen 8400 and 8418 without their big numbers.

The UP and MD lines might have several 7100 cars, becuase I have already had reports of 7112, 7121 and 7113. Quite unusual to see those outside the BNSF/SWS. Anyone know why?

Well I do know about 7272, but I wanted to know why there are 7100 cars on UP and MD. Did other cars move to BNSF as a temporary replacement?

None of them went to RI. Just the same old assignments. I've recently though seen 7438 and 7452. Other than that, no changes.
