Hi all,
I just wanted to share some news that I had just heard today.
The Plymouth Cordage Co. Historical Museum has just sealed the deal on purchasing the only 2 existing Locomotives from the plant's narrow ga. Railroad. These are some NEAT loco's! They are 42 inch gauge compressed air Baldwins, Numbers 1 and 5. number 1 was the first loco Plymouth Cordage got and was built in 1876.. the latter, No 5 was built in the 20's. its kinda sad, of the 52 pieces of rolling stock (8 locomotives and 44, 4-wheel flat cars) only these 2 locos survive. But atleast they will be coming home after almost 50 years. if anyone has any info or stories of this facinating little railroad, please let me know!
