All,

I am looking to build a model of a DIFco trolley dump car and I cannot find dimensions. I am particularly looking for the center dump variety used by the MBTA and preserved at Seashore and Pennsylvania trolley museums, but all plans for side dumps will be of help also. I understand that Seashore's car rides on Standard C-60 trucks and is numbered 3617. PTM's is 3618. I have taken a series of images when I was at Seashore a few weeks ago, but I have no set dimension to work out the rest from.

All help is welcome, thanks in advance,

Ted.

3617's trucks are original. 3618's are broad gauge trucks that were on hand at Arden. STM and MBTA libraries should have clearance outlinea for these cars. As for anything more detailed, I don't know.

Thanks Gerry,

I was hoping that there was a book on them or they were part of a car builders directory/ cyclopedia. It is a very interesting car.

The Bottom Dumps and Side Dumps by Differential were built in the 1920s but the company is still around as Trinity Rail Group. Worth a shot...

I guess another trip to Seashore is in order to get measurements. :-D
