When I worked at the intersection of Park & Tremont, I could reliably walk to North Station in 12 minutes. I didn't try to use the Green Line unless I had more than 15 min. Sometimes it was faster than I could walk, but not much. Usually, I had to wait while two or more Government Center trains came though before a Lechmere or North Station train arrived.
