Who knows what lies in the basement, packed away for decades? :-D

Here's a clipping from the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle dated December 19, 1963 about the previous day's derailment. The photo shows a steam crane at work on Track 3, and may be another on Track 2 at the very top of the photo. Also at far right note part of the former streetcar turnaround - one boxcar almost went right into it.

This was the scene of an even larger wreck several years later, when train OV-8 piled them up at the same place. Today, the I-490 East underpass under CSX would be right about at the top of the photo.

Just for added help for people trying to visualize the location: https://goo.gl/maps/8sU6eyyzVgcyY6J56
North is to the left in the picture, and I've oriented to GMap the same way. The firehouse they're talking about to the left of the bridge is the Allen St Firehouse.
1969 Aerial of the area: https://historicaerials.com/location/43 ... 09/1969/18 -- You can also select other years to see how Allen St was removed for the 490.
