As of 4:17pm the HO-2 is eastbound out of Hackettstown with 33 cars. 1st stop will be M&M, 2nd stop will be Chester Jct. and then a lite engine move to Denville.

Engines are the M&E 20 and the NS 5607

By now probably too dark for photography....chase safely! :-D

Thanks for the heads up!!
I guess that shoots anything for tuesday morning...

Odd hours for the H-02. Trying to beat the "storm"? LOL. Too bad this was Monday - bowling night - couldn't get there.

Anyone else catch it along the way?

Thanks,

Is M&M's becoming a regular switch job again? Its the second time in less then 6 weeks they were drilled.

Spotted M&E SW1500 #20 heading west off home rails at BAKER around 12-12:30 pm yesterday.

Given 883's report, I gather she hustled solo down the Washington Secondary to assist NS #5607 with the move back eastbound....

Don't know, but it is definately good news.....

In other related news, a new lumber company called Kuikens just moved into the old Wicks Lumber facility in Sucussunna and should be in operation by the Spring. M&E will serve them on the Chester Branch....NS will probably deliver the loads/empties so expect increased traffic from that....It is supposed to be a big customer so we will see.......

kuikens is pretty big lumber co. a few in bergen/passaic cty area.

Kuiken is big, they are a customer of the NYS&W in bergen county.

Norfolk Southern serves Kuiken on the Pascack Valley Line in Emerson, NJ and somewhere around by Campbell Hall, NY. NS will also interchange Kuiken cars with the NYS&W at Marion Yard.

Two NS GP38's - one with the horse and one without - have just arrived at BAKER from Dover and are going down the hill on the M&E to get a big drink from a waiting deisel fuel tank truck....

Seems to be the popular trend now to have two locos on H02.

It happens on and off. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.

On Wednesday night there was only one NS unit at the NJT Dover Yard

On Wednesday saw what I will always refer to as the 'Dover Drill' come west through Morristown in early afternoon - one engine only and 3 cars.

Regarding Kuiken lumber - can anyone confirm their lease/purchase of the actual former Wickes property? What is visible is their months long (primarily because it's been start and stop job not a steady effort) renovation into retail space of the former auto body shop on Rt 10 near the crossing and next to the branch. I see no activity within the former Wickes property where the siding is located. Wouldn't preclude just spotting cars on the 'main' next to the new site but the size of the facility and surrounding property that's being worked on suggests a fairly small retail facility without an extensive lumber yard operation.
