These were still there early Thursday morning. Reminds me of the late 1980's when the M&E used to drop off their westbound empties (off the Whippany Line) at Denville so the Conrail Car Inspector could look them over there. This kept the yard at Lake Junction from getting plugged.

Don't have those kind of problems anymore.

This particular string has Dietrich and Royal cars in it.

And to think those two customers are fairly new within the last 8 years or so, which makes it pretty ironic they are the busiest clientele for the railroad east of Hackettstown...

Hmmm, I wonder how Conrail would have marketed that had they still existed!?!?

...was through with 3010 leading blue 5304 and about a dozen covered hoppers with one tanker in the middle.
They probably made the return trip already, i'll see if I can get over there soon to see if anything moved.

3010 (with wreath of the short hood) was the sole power on a drop at Lake Junction yard around 2pm. I didn't stick around to see where they went after the drop. Was busy inspecting the Chester Branch work.

Looked like CRQ 3057 was behind the 3010 and there were about 20 cars.

I appreciate the updates on train movements, particularly when you tell us the number of freight cars. I'm quite curious about the volume of business up there.

Because of the Washington Seconadary track work, the H-02 starting time is 1:00 PM for the next two or so weeks. The gang started at "Bill" MP 58 on Monday and they are working West, there is about 35 machines working and about 1mile was completed.
