A park would be better than more housing and more congestion. Why not make life a little better for the people already living there, instead of always trying to squeeze in more people? I guess it's all about $$.

One time we were WWR (way wrong railing) on track one going west, i saw the roll up doors. The parking structure adjacent to track 4 is also J&J. Till recently it had solar panels that actually tracked the sun, i believe they are being replaced with newer panels.TREnecNYP wrote:...their global HQ is still in new brunswick though, and can be seen from the station, it's that weird looking building that sits partially under the grounds and has the white/glass tower...Its not "partially under the grounds", the NEC is elevated through New Brunswick and comes up to the 4th floor of the building. If you get off the train and look, you can see that the building is at street level.

Johnson Drive, which parallels NJ-18 is at a significantly lower elevation than George Street, one block over. There is access to the parking area from Johnson Drive and, from certain angles, it would appear that the building may be below ground. However, the main entrance and lobby are at street level (street being relative to NJ-27).
I've said it before, but i think it warrants repeating, i've ridden the northeast corridor hundreds of times, i really have had a lot of time to observe the various goings on and what's outside the ROW.

Of course - if there's anything this state has, it's a shortage of housing!
Why are they so hell bent on developing this area? Plow the J&J buildings over and make it a big park...

Looking out the window of the train and actually getting off and exploring the area are completely different. Take a stroll through downtown New Brunswick sometime... Its an entirely different kind of flying, altogether. Take it from someone who was born, raised, lives, and works in the area... you don't get an accurate representation of New Brunswick, or any city for that matter, by passing through on a train. Just sayin. [/rant]

I hope North Brunswick is serious about making approval contingent upon actually getting permission and funding aid to build this station. Otherwise, it's just more car traffic on US1.So now it's NJT responsibility to do North Brunswick's work for them? Let's get this straight again. Amtrak owns and dispatches the tracks. If a station gets built, it is because they approve of such a plan. North Brunswick should be petitioning them for the permission, not complaining that NJT isn't doing it.

A search run with your username and the the keyword girlfriend returns 34 results (some of which I know are duplicates). I mean, it almost never adds any interest/validity to your stories so it just seems odd to me.
