It shows that the 1756 was Conrail #7065. It was originally a Pennsylvania loco, later Penn Central. I do not know what numbers it had on PRR or PC. As stated above the photo, this unit and the #7083 had some mechanical work done and were painted into the NHN livery by the Providence & Worchester RR at their Worcester shops. As such, they were the first two locomotives on the roster of the NHN. Interestingly, the 1757 is still on the property. I am not sure if it is still servicable or not, as the NHN purchased the NEGS 503 (GP18) and has been using that unit for work on their line. Only the two GP 38s usually venture to Dover and Boston.

Prior to being sold to Guilford/PAR, the 1756 had a fire and there were comments that "it would never run again". There have also been reports that Guilford/PAR intends to covert it to a "remote control" unit, to which any loco could be MU'ed and become remotely controlled.

This unit was scrapped over the summer.
