New Penn Station for commuters, too

New York State officials are studying three designs to transform the city's central post office into a new Midtown train station serving New Jersey and Long Island commuters.

The design plans were submitted by developers last week and officials said they expect to select one by June.

In addition to creating an Amtrak concourse at the "new" Penn Station at the Farley Post Office, there has been talk of creating additional concourses for LIRR and NJT.
