Be on the lookout Friday Feb 25th because the first 100 mile test run of the new PL42AC is going to run from Alstom here in Hornell west towards Olean.

Another test Saturday

I sure wish I could get up there to see the tests. Oh well. They'll probably make their way over here within the next month.

Anyone know how the horns sound? Are they loud and blary or has the K5LA horns been tuned down on them?

I was in Hornell a few weeks back when they tested the 4020, and I did not think the horns were overly loud.

Hey roc, thanks for the word on Saturday's test....I wanted to go down for Friday's run but couldn't, so I took a chance on your say so and it went great! The last time I was down to Hornell for engine tests was for the PATtrain fromer WAG F unit rebuilds.......

The WAGs were rebuilt in Hornell? That must be ~25 years ago now.
