Thanks for the heads-up. Even searching for the article on Philly.com now leads to a dead-end.

Mods, feel free to do what you must, if anything, with this thread.

Bizarrely, even googling for that article leads to dead articles... and not just from Philly.com.

(if only someone posted the entire story!! ;) )

I did find this link to PlanTheKeystone.org

Plan the Keystone is a study to identify infrastructure investments for the Keystone stations and their surrounding areas with the goal of enhancing the transit service and strengthening the communities served by the Keystone Line. This effort is being done in close collaboration with municipalities along the Keystone Line.

Plan with us! PennDOT would like your help in crafting the future of the Keystone Stations. This is where you can get involved with your neighbors and help to Plan the Keystone.
Strangely even some of the older Downingtown links in there are dead.

I think it's because they're going to close the station without telling anyone and reopen the new one silently. That way, there'll be mass rider confusion as to why no trains are stopping. All the while Governor Corbett laughs at us and our reliance on public transit. It's a conspiracy I tell ya!

(If you can't tell, it's a slow night around my place...)

Haha. Good reference there, Alex.

Well, at least there's something out there about this. The only thing that was in the Philly.com article that this website doesn't mention was possible relocation to the River Station site. I'm not too familiar with Downingtown station- I've only used it a few times since my grandparents live down the road from it. So I don't know if moving the station would be better or worse for the community as a whole.

Downingtown Mayor Josh Maxwell said the station, which will be moved from the west end of town to the site of the former Sonoco Paper Factory, a more central location, was selected for renovation through Amtrak's Keystone Opportunity Zone program.

"This is outstanding news for Downingtown and the region," Maxwell said. "A modern train station will fit perfectly inside of 'River Station,' the new mixed-use transit-oriented development that we have been working on."

Maxwell said the station would be located near Boot Road and Route 322, a short walk to downtown. The announcement was made at Wednesday night's Borough Council meeting.

site design looks pretty corny with parking surrounding the station...dumping you off behind the development instead of in the town
