An electric motor car is pushed through the back wall of the New Canaan roundhouse the evening of March 13, 1908, by another car in which the controlls had failed. Luckily nobody was injured in the incident.

Thanks, a nice bit of trivia - can anyone mention where the roundhouse was located? Thanks in advance...

From what I can gather the building was just south of the New Canaan station by the Grove St crossing. There is a large Steel building that is tennis club in this area.

Editorial from New Canaan Advertiser May 1st 1908. The condition of the rolling stock on the New Canaan branch is simply discraceful. In the smoking car the seats are nearly all broken, as are some of those in the passenger car for ladies. The cars are entirely worn out and ought to be replaced by others suitable for decent people to ride in. our citizens are not cattle, as one would suppose,on looking at the cars provided for their transportation.
