Wow , only 2 million tonnes , ( and 60 k passengers ) over a 2000 km network . Would seem to me the case for upgrading is pretty thin .

I wish I had gone that way in the 1970s when I was working in Botswana. The sleeper used to take off from De Aar. But at that time it was SWA and treated as a province of SA (illegally according to the UN).
