Anyone know what engines in NE have worked for the most RR's?

I'd think that any locomotive that survived B&M through Pan-Am South would be in the running.
Corporate revolving doors & all that.

My guess would be one or more FL-9's. New Haven, Penn Central, Metro-North, State of Connecticut, Amtrak, Morristown and Erie, Maine Eastern, Naugatuck RR and probably more that do not come to mind right now.

NH GP9 1229 to PC 7559 to MBTA 7559 to ICG 7559* to SEMTA 905 to MBTA 905 to CNZR 905
(inactive, but they want to get it running again).

*don't know if it ran for ICG or directly into the Paducah GP10/11 program for SEMTA...

The aforementioned FL-9s probably win. In the running would be MEC RS-3 557, several D&H RS-3s (B&M, P&W, LVRC and beyond), and we can't forget the Pinsly 44 and 70 tonners. (You need a spreadsheet to keep track of 'em all)! For steam, NAUG 2-6-2 103

RMNE 103: Sumpter & Choctaw -> Empire State RR Museum -> Railroad Museum of New England (never owned by the Valley RR or NAUG).

RMNE (MEC 557): MEC 557 -> Winnepausikee RR -> RMNE

RMNE (B&M 1109): B&M -> Claremont & Concord -> Montpelier & Barre? -> Pioneer Valley -> RMNE (started but never ran).

RMNE (B&M 1508): B&M -> D&H -> Owosso etc etc -> RMNE

NAUG(2203): Conrail -> P&W -> Larry's Truck (reseller/scrapper) -> NAUG

NH 529: New Haven -> Penn Central -> Amtrak (138) -> RMNE 138 (on Valley RR) -> NH 529 (after rehab ).

MEC/RMNE 557--- MEC to Wolfeboro to Goodwin RR (Goodwin Construction Co.) to Winnepesaukee to private owner to RMNE

B&M 1508--- B&M to D&H to Steamtown to pvt owner (who had it at WMSR as "WM 199", and who then had it in Michigan as "CC&O 1508") to RMNE.

NAUG 2203 was not owned/sold/brokered by LTE (Ohio), but by a dealer in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area.

CPR 1246 (4-6-2 steam) was CPR, then F Nelson Blount, then Green Mountain Rwy Corp, then Steamtown, then RMNE.

What about the CVRM?. Kidding aside. Thank-you for the heritage run down. Learned something new She looked better in VRR colors then that green she wore prior.

If I remember, the transfer of #103 from ESRM took place around 1986, just when the corporate name of the CVRM was changed to the RMNE.
The Naugatuck Railroad is a wholly owned subsidiary of the RMNE (holy McGinnis Batman!) and never had title of #103.

TheValley Railroad operated #103 for the 1st few years & it may or may not have been leased to the VRR at the time -things were a bit looser at the time even for the prominent leading citizens of Essex who founded the VRR after all of the leg work was done by the CVRA in 1968/9.
