Took the LIRR un to the City this Wednesday & saw that LIRR is scrapping some of the MOW equipment at Dunkin yard, on Montauk branch just before main line.

They had too much equip. or were they just worn out ?

What equipment was being cut up?

Looks like some of the stuff used for rail work, i.e. those small yellow pieces of equipment,
including those little crew cabs ... that look like speeders.

Went by that yard this Wednesday.

They are just about done with the scrapping.
Only a couple of cab left.

Say, Mr.T do you think anything looked salvagable for a certain railway museum? Hint, hint...

Do I think any thing is salvagable ?

Nope :-(
When first I saw it, the thought had crossed my mind, but last Wed. almost all was gone.

From what I could see, the stuff being scrapped were old Tampers and tie removers. There could have been a Little Giant in there, but maybe it was lifting the pieces apart.
