Didn't see a topic for one of Minnesota's stalwarts, so here we go.

They've been part of an interline unit coal operation between the CN and UP (possibly still are), interchange hundreds of cars with the BNSF and CP, and also serve the Twin Cities & Western and the now-CP-owned Iowa, Chicago and Eastern.

Three pictures for you:
-operations are based at the southernmost end of the line in St. Paul, where it meets the ex-MILW main to Minneapolis and Aberdeen.

-MNNR is known for operating oddball units, like Alcos and MLWs (one C636 is called "Monster of the Midway"), though the majority are now GE U-Boats and Dash-7s.

-The GEs are odd themselves, with a high-nose unit and a locomotive brought in from Australia (affectionately named "Crocodile GE".) Not pictured is an ex-BN B30-7A(B) and their brand-new SF30B - look in the BNSF forum for that one.
