In the February 1962 issue of Trains, it was reported that the Milwaukee Road would be repowering 30 locomotives while purchasing 16 turbocharged locomotives (Their GP30's).
What came of the repowering project, if anything? I don't recall ever seeing any mention of any repowering projects over the years for this line while those of othe roads like the Katy were well known as are many one off projects from numerous railroads.
