Got a cell phone picture, but I'm not going to upload it - the last thing the world needs more of is crappy cell phone pics of an AEM-7 :D.

Maybe this time they'll be fixed for good.
Nice, I also hope they're back for good. 4900 and 4903 are still missing though...
OK, so I lied - since I was playing around with MobileMe, I uploaded the picture. It's actually insanely easy, so I give you "AEM-7 Over the Shoulder While Moving Opposite Directions At Low Speed and Trying Desperately To Not Put My Finger In Front Of The Lens And Wishing That I Had Carried The D-60 Today"

I also saw them at Penn Station yesterday afternoon, I believe they would have been the engines on the 4:15 PM departure from Washington yesterday. So it would appear that they were used on numerous runs yesterday, and since I didn't receive any MARC alerts, I assume without any problems.

They will be back to wilmington soon enough. Those junk piles need to be scraped or remaned. Most the crews don't like them. I hear several engineers complain more about them then the HHP's. The AEM7's and the diesels are really showing their age. They are putting protect crews on every day now because of engine failures. They tried to get me on my off day to work a marc protect job. THEY DON"T PAY ME ENOUGH! LOL

But that's the reason they rehabbed them. The majority of Amtrak's electrics are AEM-7DC's that haven't be rehabilitated. The MARC electrics should at least be in better condition than those.

Im guessing that MARC(Amtrak) isnt having any luck with the rehabbed AEM7s because all 3 are sitting in front of Wilmington Shops today and the past 2 days, I have witnessed an Amtrak AEM7 on the head end of a MARC Bilevel train. I dont remember the engine # but I want to say the 925 maybe? Also today Im guessing the MARC HHP 4911 became disabled because when I brought my train south, I saw the 4911 sitting along at Baltimore Penn track 5 by itself, and then when I brought a train nb, I passed it at Halethorpe as a diesel towed it sb.

Yeah MARC occasionally uses Amtrak AEM-7's for MARC trains. Just a month or two ago I saw MARC 4902 doubleheading with an Amtrak AEM-7 on a MARC train.

Yeah I have seen that train alot but now a MARC and AMTRAK AEM7 arent being doubleheaded since the 3 MARC AEM7s are at Wilmington. It looked odd seeing a single AMTRAK AEM7 pulling a MARC Bilevel train

This morning on my way into work on Amtrak 151 I noticed that there was a single MARC AEM-7 in the yard. I couldn't catch the number but judging by the paint job it had to be one of the overhauled loco's.

Amtrak regional just passed through Odenton going north w/ Amtrak 911 and MARC 4901 at the head end.

Next stop on the AEM-7 tour: Scranton, PA

4900 caught in Scranton- http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPi ... id=1675989

Who wants to bet that next time one of them ends up somewhere in Jersey? :P

I wonder if the MTA even has a clue as to their whereabouts? Doubt it.

EDIT: Yep, and it looks like 4901 was being excercised north of Philadelphia in SEPTA R7 territory-

Oh, btw Amtrak ripped up 4910, also in Scranton- http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPi ... id=1675974

One of them was parked at Ivy City on Friday, way back in the back - these guys do get around!

Edit to add - good find on the pictures from 7/2 - that's the morning that I saw them headed north together. Coincidentally, I saw Amtrak 911 leading a train through Odenton that same evening by itself, so it seems that 4901 was left up north that day.

I'm not so sure those photos are from Scranton - the last photo has to be in Wilmington or someplace on the corridor. I can imagine why so many Amtrak electrics would be off system, and who would be doing the work in Scranton?

2 MARC AEM-7's are back in Ivy City (way the heck up north behind the stored P40's. Way too far away to get numbers, and they were sitting with an HHP-8.

Maybe with them back in the state, MARC can stop canceling trains for a lack of power.

Well, technically they're in DC (since that's where Ivy City is) :-D , but yeah I hope they stay for good this time. I only think I received one notice for a cancelled train though due to lack of power equipment.
