New rail cars will soon begin to roll off the lines at factories in Lincoln, Neb., and Japan in greater numbers, state Department of Transportation Commissioner Joseph Marie said, as the state meanwhile makes steady progress to get roughly two dozen of the M-8 cars in passenger service by December.
Hey Dutch, why don't you pick the Test Train job for the upcoming pick??? Sounds like fun!! Hell, if I had the whiskers for it, I would pick it.

Why would I pick a job that pays far less than job im currently on, plus I have to travel 1 hour each way, plus work nights ???
The job is boring as hell as you do same night after night after night.

Good catch and nice shots, Otto.

Thanks for the kind words! Actually, wasn't too hard to catch, I just had to be listening! Was sitting at my desk when I heard brakes dump at the station. Then I heard the distinctive "whine" of AC traction motors, like on an M-7. The train seemed to be working back and forth between Harrison and Mamaroneck, it would appear and disappear every 20 minutes or so. Not sure what they were testing this night...

Nice shots Otto, a little sneak preview for the years to come on the New Haven Line.

I concur with people's comments, nice photography Otto. M8 test train was spotted around 0125hrs on 6/3 just east of CP217 in New Rochelle with 4 cars.

Highest MAS is between Mam'k and New Ro, no? Seems like the spot to run it hard.

Great shots, looks pretty good!

I guess they're being run in different configurations, i.e. 4, 6, or 8 car consists, right? Can't run 10 since there aren't 10 on site.
