No news article, but heard this from a friend down In the Long Island area who is well involved with the Cornell, that I believe Last Thursday, a Female, Early 20's attempted to jump off the Poughkepsee Bridge, when the Cornell had been a mile off, and saw the attempt. She, and her crew steamed up, and rescued this young lady.
I guess Pushing Barges isn't all she's good for! ;)

KINGSTON — Capt. Matthew Perricone of the tugboat Cornell says that when he spotted a woman who’d jumped from the Mid-Hudson Bridge in slushy Hudson River waters Sunday afternoon there was no question what to do.

“When somebody is in the water, you get them out of there,” said Perricone, 29, of Valhalla. “When somebody needs help, you help them.”

wow! thats quite a story!

im honestly surprised someone could survive that jump..
even in summer..(just from the distance of the fall)
and especially in winter..(odds of hitting ice..etc)

We were on our way back from an assist job in Newburgh. She jumped from the Mid Hudson Bridge and apparently hit a patch of slush.
