During the flood of 1972, on the of the piers was undermined. The pier was not fixed but the roadbed "raised" and a 5 mph slow order was put in pace. When was the bridge fixed? Photos show it still with a dip in 1973.

Thanks,

Charles

It is my understanding that the bridge was never completely fixed and that a 10 mph restriction remains in place today.

You can still see the cluster of "I" beams under the timetable eastern most pier to this day. There was still a slow order over it when I was working that end of the railroad.
