Any speculation as to what kind of shape the MARC units are in at this point? Would they be worth SEPTA getting them even just for parts supplies for their own AEM7s?

I've only seen the one toaster at riverside.

They're leasing or borrowing 26 of them, any idea which 15 they wanted to buy?
Math adding numbers from previous posts =7 + 14 + 2 + 3 = 26
I'm assuming the 15 they wish to buy are the IIb units, 14 trailers plus one cab - instead of the 11 IIa units, 7 trailers plus 4 cabs.

At one time MARC had 60 MK II railcars built by Sumitomo/Nippon Sharyo
15 IIa trailers
11 IIa cabs
28 IIb trailers
6 IIb cabs

I would have guessed the IIa's. Only because the IIb's for the most part, came off the MARC active roster. All the IIa's had been in storage for over a year and a half.

And they currently have 31 MARC cars on lease now. Another cab and four trailers arrived over the weekend. Total of 6 cabs and 25 trailers now on hand here.

Does Broadway know how much SEPTA is paying MARC for those 15 railcars?

That's above my paygrade, lol. Didn't hear anything about price yet.

The ACS-64 order is 13 units firm plus some options, right? This would replace 7 AEM-7s and 1 ALP-44, and unless they get the rumored bi-level push-pull coach order in real soon, this could provide extra cars in the short term until more coaches are delivered, right?

Actually 26 cars on hand... you listed 25 cars and missed 7708, making 26.
It was mentioned in several places that an additional 5 cars and an ACS were brought up over the weekend, which would make 31, but that set has not been identified yet.

Yes, 13 with an option for 5 to make 18. Scheduled for delivery in 2018.
The coach order is expected for delivery sometime in 2019, which means a bidder would have to be selected and an order placed sometime in 2017.

Meanwhile, back in August at Suburban Station

Could it be that SEPTA is considering picking up the option on the locomotive order?

The NJT set went home. Six Silverliner IVs on 1724 this morning. It still terminated at Suburban Station though. Conductor was originally announcing Temple University as the last stop, then recanted at 30th Street.
