Yup!!

You can kiss it goodbye, unless someone else moves in or a passenger tourist operation comes in, but that is doubtful!!

You really hate to see this and people loose their jobs!! :-(

Isn't the parent company "Trinity" a rail car builder and does anyone in the area know what type of castings they make at this foundry?

Owner/operator is East Penn, interchange with NS is in Topton.

Actually, a heavy industry around that long, there is a good chance of EPA issues to clean up when it's knocked down which may require rail use.

As I posted over on rf.net, I definitely don't hold out much hope for the line after the foundry shuts down.

East Penn was quick to bail on the Colebrookdale / Barto Branch, and I doubt they'll be slow on this one. The only hope that I see, is State / County purchase, or a tourist line. (I am bummed that the Kutztown East Penn excursions ended before I got to ride them.)
