ITS ABOUT TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!

  by RPM2Night

I wonder if anyone will ever produce the deasil fleet passenger cars, so that we can put them with the FA units being released. I wonder if there is a possible run of a GP38-2. I think they would be able to make good money if they produced some LIRR stuff. the DMs and DEs would not sell much, because the LIRR is the only RR to use them....so hence not many people would buy them...but if they made a GP38 they could paint it up in different road names as well. Wishful thinking, I know lol

Also, any word on the MP15 locomotives that are coming out in HO scale? Thanks!

We all know some of these units have been changed since, but this list was online a while back. I'm sure it isn't all accurate.

There once was someone who made resin kits of P-72 coaches. I bought one and built it. Never painted it and of course I wish now I had bought a second. I also wish I learned how to better deal with building resin kits before I put the kit together. Its ok looking but not perfect. I don't think the kits were mass produced. They were pricey if I recall and were sold I believe exclusively through Willis Hobbies.

On a side note, two of my very first models were that of GP-38-2 #277 and FA #615 both custom painted in Blue and White with red stripe. The GP-38 is an Atlas product and the FA is Model Power. I still have them and they served well at my company Christmas layout this past December.

Athern a number of years ago produced some real nice LI models. I own an HO model of F7 #620 in MTA blue and white. Athern also produced LI cars, 2 of which I own. I might be interested in selling the cars (which need some TLC). I'll try and get some pictures for anyone interested.

walthers is making a B60 baggage car in lirr as well as the Fa,i would hope they would make coaches or somthing.

  by Long Island 7285

Walthers Hvyweight Pullmans are nice. some re working of the mold can make one into a P72 do a little more work and youll get a P75

I they have sucess with the FA and Athern/Lifelike has success with the geeps, then cars are not far to follow.

I called atlas once, and they told me that LIRR is a hot name for them and they are considering rolling sotck nd more road #/Paints chemes pain LI

hopefully theyll get to commercially avaliable(and affordible) M1-7s,MP54s,MP72s and 1100s and other MUs and maybe DD1s.

Guys,

Lets get some letters in to Athern to make some prototypicaly accurate P72/75's

im shure we will get some kind of feed back or somthing.

I was told by bachmann that they will do a long Island train set or just locomotive and cars if i were able to get some one (Ie hobbyshop) to order the nescary quanites. that being said some one will need to order 500-1000+ sets or indivisual equpt, and they will do it.

any one out there with ideas or tips to get somthing rolling.

It's always nice to dream!

Otto, its not a dream

I did contatc bachmann once, i got the reply on my other computer.

they wount make a mold and change the presses for 1 or 2 sets or cars.. we need some one who will take the risk at business to place an order for a Long Island set, or pass cars, ect. if they order the nescaet quanites then they will produce the product.

its all business.
