Greensburg Railfanning

I was wondering if anyone knew any good spots around Greensburg to watch the NS mainline? Is the amtrak station a good spot or do the police both amtrak or city get upset? anywhere else other than the station in the area?

From the station side it's almost impossible to get onto the platform if there's no train due. However, I do remember a large parking lot on the other side of the tracks where one can watch to their heart's content.
