After Bridge 6 was removed at that location the main line tracks were raised approximately 20" to reduce problems caused by the flooding. The yard tracks will eventually be raised when equipment availability allows.

Was Bridge 6 the 'Red Bridge' near the Cambridge/Somerville city line, which was removed during the Democratic National Convention in July, 2004?

Not South Station as such, but rather Amtrak's Southampton Street yard. That's where the equipment is serviced, since Amtrak has no facilities on the North Side.
lol why would they need facilities, only one train.. haha, Then again if everyone was "nice' and shared.. MBCR/Amtrak could be good to each other.. HA!
