Just a few corrections from the NYA statistics post. The railroad was created in May 1997 and the carloads were at 11,683 in 1996 (Newsday business section April 21st 1997).
I was also told by Joel Torres (NYA marketing director at the time) at the RMLI Railfest in 2002 that the carloads increased from 11,000 to 15,000 in that short 5 year span.
