I am interested in the status or disposition of the NYC, Empire State Express Observation Cars #54 and 55. Inaugurated 12/7/1941, and finally numbered in 1952.
These are the Budd #54 Theodore Roosevelt, and the #55 Franklin D. Roosevelt. They were a 34 seat tavern lounge bar, and 22 seat lounge observation car.
I understand they were retired in 1958, and sold to NdeM for further service, but....what became of them? I can't any further pics or status.
Does anyone have first-hand info regarding either of these cars?
Did metal-urchins in Mx get to them, or were they brought back to the USA?
