Hello All: Happy New Year!
The Pennsy had different menu's available to different routes. The East-West main largely had dining cars for the most part. Although some had lounge cars only.
The North-South route from Buffalo to Washington and Erie to Philadelphia had cafe coaches.
Were the cafe cars much like the lounge cars and serve fresh hot and cold sandwiches?
I remember one evening leaving Erie in 1952 having a fresh hot Perch sandwich. Loving fish I can relate all these years later.
The North South corridor trains caried a variety of cars. Is there a source where I can find out just what was served where?
I can remember some memorable meals in the dining cars between New York and Pittsburgh and return.
Wouldn't it be great to relive one more time a delicious NY Strip steak going around The Curve or in a blinding snow storm?
I also remember great breakfasts as well. Their coffee was A-OK!
