Hempstead Branch Customers
Due to a derailment in the Hempstead train yard, LIRR train service on the Hempstead Branch is temporarily suspended.
Limited train service has been established west of Garden City Station. Limited bus service is being established between Hempstead and Garden City stations.
Customers are advised to take alternate LIRR train service on other branches.

Regular service had been restored by noon.

Saw overhead footage on the Noon news. Two M-7 trains somehow bumped or sideswiped or something and one derailed. Watching the 5PM news now, hoping to catch it again.

on my way to work this morning I saw the M-7 the last car jumped the tracks. Didn't see any other M-7 at the Hempstead train station. As that train was on the lead to the only track that leads in and out of Hempstead

Why are M-7's having all these problems?

Was that M-7 towed to Hillside? or was it moved under its own power?. I know it was stated that the train was damaged.

I don't have any details of how bad the sideswipe damage is, but damaged cars are 7118 from one train, and 7147,7148,7279,7280 from the other train.
I believe they all made it to Hillside Yard.
