@Otto,

regards to the floor tiles is that the particular type of floor tile used in these cars and the ones used in the NH RDC are no longer in production (an obstacle that was tackled during the RDC 32 project) the goal will be to assess the adhesive of the tiles in their current state and if needed reapply a coating of adhesive along with laying newer replacement tiles in the bare parts of the floor. But tile work wont be for a while...

This phase so far is to clean out the interior of the car totally so that we have a place for tools and materials.

Basically were going to be working from the outside in. The vestibules will need the most work since some of the diamond plating will need to be replaced. However the frame and plating under car is sound. This can be done in house.

After that is completed sealing, cleaning and painting of the roof will commence. Currently seeking bids from several paint dealers.

Once the roof is finished then the deep cleaning of the stainless steel fluting can be completed

Good move. Cleaning out crap from the car is a good start. Making room to work is good! Getting the roof and windows taken care of is good to set as your first priority, as it will give you a solid foundation for the rest of your work.

Photos from today's work, etc. about 1/3 of the car is cleaned revealing survived seat bases.

Also later in the same day we were able to remove the oil tanks from the baggage room with ease.

Those 4400 seat frames are a 3-2 setup, and very specific to that series of cars.

Well from observation they appear to be identical to the ACMUs

Yes the B&M 1455 is also undergoing a restoration at this time. The project manager on that project is very aggressive at tackling that project.

Another restoration project is bringing the Speeders into a good state of mechanical repair.

and as always on any RR TRACKWORK

yes to built a new boiler for 1455 would cost a fortune, also all cab fittings are gone.
