At about 8:30 this morning going thru Harrington Park NJ heading northward I think, was a 10 engine power move. Very interesting! Most of the engines appeared to be leased units and all of them appeared to be looking a bit rough around the edges. The first unit was a standard cab NS unit that was leased too.

Anybody catch this move?

Sorry to be a crank, but the subject is River Line Status Updates. I don't think the group needs a regular update on the trains you saw.

But that's just my opinion...

Whatever the title of the thread, I enjoy your rail traffic updates waldwickrailfan! If you catch the times and locations of the trains you see it would be more interesting as well.

Whatever the moderator thinks, I will respect his decision. Not much going on the River Line at the moment in terms of new signals or MOW work. Only thing is that they changed Auto 121 to Auto 122. I like sharing what I caught here, whether it be as common as a CEFX SD40-2 or as rare as a GMRY NW2, for example

Thank you for your feedback ccutler! I will try my best in the future

I appreciate your train lists too, please keep them coming. If anyone has no interest in seeing them I would suggest simply skipping over them, not a big deal.

Isn't there a controlled siding between CP 118 and CP 121?
If 121 is now A122, what happened to the siding?
I am very interested in whatever goes on the River sub. I am still working on a model in Trainz. New version now.

Thank you Roberttosh!

CPSK, CSX last year made it double tracked all the way to Selkirk from CP118. They took out the crossovers at CP121 and made it an Automatic. They moved it to Auto 122 now. It is double tracked all the way to CP118 now, then single track to the next siding at CP106

Waldwickrailfan I too love update - once in awhile I get to shoot song the line so it helps to have some idea what's out there.

I was out by bear mountain Friday and saw two oddities - a local with maybe 10 covered hoppers and 3 gons, and a rail train with a b&o caboose.

Anyone know what the local was? It was heading north at mid day. I've never seen a local heading up the line before.

Waldwick, as a side note I too enjoy your train lists and on occasion have added my own... Any information about goings on and trains that are running on the river line is a plus. What you saw was most likely the Kingston local, either C711 or C712. If it had covered hopper cars it was most likely coming from Aluf Plastics which is located down near Orangeburg, NY. The local will make a trip south of Kingston once or twice a week usually, as needed. In fact was on my way back home from railfanning today and missed the C711. Was heading southbound, going through Milton (CP69) at around 1200...
