Stumped on what CSX GRMC 2 Does.... is it like a Sperry car or a Geometry car?

Ground Restraint Measurement System # 2 This car is equiped with special senors and a split axle to simulate the effects of a loaded train upon the rail,spikes, ties. Basically the reaction of the rails under load.

It is actually called Gage Restraint Measurement System.

As roadster said, it measures track gage changes under a calibrated load to find problems where gage could spread under a heavy train that are not apparent in a regular track geometry test or visual inspection.
