Time for a small update on activites going on in Cayuga County and Westering Onondaga County.
CSX Crews have been droping containers off at Centerport Road between Weedsport and Port Byron a new Cabin was installed for the new crossing gates.
Outher Crossings geting new Gates are Bonta Bridge Road, Pump Road,
in Onondaga County Peru Road, and I'm not sure but eather Herman Road or Pottary Road will get new gates. I'm leaning in the direction of Pottary road geting the upgrade just due to Herman road have an upgrade years befor after an accdent that wiped the gates out years befor.
According to a friend of mine who is a signal maintaince guy for CSX told me that the gates that are being upgraded and replaced are between 20 and 25 years old.
CSX only plans on replaceing and upgardeing 5 crossings this year.
A CSX Kershaw Hydra Ax with a telacopeing boom was seen off of Center Port Road triming back tree branches. This means there will be a brush hog following behind soon in a few months as well.
