For any fans of the locally ubiqutuous F59PHI, I thought I'd share some recent scans (from just before I finally switched to digital in August of 2005). These three images were all taken within about 1/2 an hour of each other.

These engines have been called Chevy Luminas for their resemblence to the 1990s SUV version of the Lumina (as well as their GM unreliability). They were also called California Style units.

First is of one of the Marlboro Unlimited units that Metrolink bought, pulling a Burbank Airport Turn.

Second is the original Sound Transit F59PHI splitting the signals at CP Lockheed.

Third is an Amtrak Surfliner of Horizon Fleet equipment passing the Bob Hope Airport sign.

One day we will miss these Chevy Luminas... one day... but certainly not yet.
