So in November 1990 Amtrak's Broadway Limited was rerouted from the ex-PRR (Fort Wayne) line west from Pittsburgh to the ex-B&O line. In October 1994 it was moved to the ex-PRR line between Pittsburgh and New Castle (still used by the Capitol Limited to just shy of New Castle).

My question is how the train served Penn Station in Pittsburgh before the 1994 rerouting. There is no direct connection between the ex-PRR bridge over the Allegheny (still used by the Capitol Limited) and the ex-PRR towards Etna, to which it could probably connect to the ex-B&O. Did it cross the Allegheny on the ex-B&O bridge, back up along the ex-PRR into Penn Station, and then leave the station the way it came? Or did it reverse direction on the north side, near the north end of the ex-PRR bridge?
