The platform at the Brewster train station yesterday morning was a mix of briefcases, backpacks and baby strollers.
"It's a little tight, but we managed to squeeze in," said Bob Schroeder of Danbury, Conn., referring to the hunt for a parking space near the station. He was waiting for the 10:03 a.m. train to New York City with his wife, Melanie, and children, Megan, 9, and Bobby, 7.
The four were headed to Manhattan for a day of shopping, including stops at American Girl Place and Toys 'R' Us.
"It definitely needs (more parking)," Melanie Schroeder said. "There's no doubt about it."
